Creamy Broccoli and Chicken Penne

Ingredients
  

8 oz penne pasta

2 cups broccoli florets

1 lb chicken breast, diced

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup heavy cream

1 cup chicken broth

1 cup grated Parmesan cheese

2 tbsp olive oil

1 tsp Italian seasoning

Salt and pepper to taste

Red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)

Fresh basil leaves, for garnish (optional)

Instructions
 

Cook the Pasta: In a large pot of salted boiling water, cook the penne pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Add the broccoli florets to the pot during the last 3 minutes of cooking. Drain and set aside.

    Sauté the Chicken: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced chicken breast, season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning. Cook for about 6-7 minutes until cooked through and lightly browned. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.

      Make the Creamy Sauce: In the same skillet, add minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant. Pour in the chicken broth, scraping any browned bits from the bottom of the skillet. Let it simmer for 2-3 minutes.

        Add the Cream and Cheese: Lower the heat and stir in the heavy cream and grated Parmesan cheese. Continue stirring until the cheese is melted and the sauce is creamy. Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper to taste. If you enjoy a little heat, add red pepper flakes.

          Combine: Return the cooked chicken and drained pasta and broccoli to the skillet. Toss everything gently to coat in the creamy sauce, heating through for another minute.

            Serve: Remove from heat and serve hot, garnished with fresh basil leaves if desired. Enjoy your creamy delight!
