Ingredients

12 oz rotini pasta

1 lb ground beef (preferably lean)

3 tablespoons olive oil

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 small onion, finely chopped

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional for heat)

1 cup heavy cream

1 cup shredded Parmesan cheese

Salt and pepper, to taste

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Cook the Pasta: Begin by boiling a large pot of salted water. Add rotini pasta and cook it according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Sauté the Aromatics: In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and garlic, sautéing until the onion becomes translucent and the garlic is fragrant (about 2-3 minutes).

Brown the Beef: Increase the heat to medium-high and add the ground beef to the skillet. Cook until browned and fully cooked, breaking it apart with a spatula. Drain excess fat if necessary.

Season the Mixture: Stir in the Italian seasoning, red pepper flakes (if using), salt, and pepper. Mix well to combine.

Create the Sauce: Lower the heat to medium and pour in the heavy cream, stirring to combine. Add the shredded Parmesan cheese gradually, stirring until the cheese melts and the sauce becomes creamy and smooth.

Combine with Pasta: Add the cooked rotini to the skillet and toss it in the creamy sauce until well coated. If the sauce is too thick, feel free to add a splash of pasta water to reach your desired consistency.

Serve and Garnish: Remove from heat, and serve hot. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley and extra Parmesan cheese if desired.
