Ingredients

12 oz cheese-filled tortellini (fresh or frozen)

6 slices of bacon, chopped

2 tablespoons unsalted butter

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup heavy cream

1 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

Salt and pepper, to taste

1 cup spinach, chopped (optional)

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Cook the Tortellini: In a large pot of boiling salted water, cook tortellini according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Cook the Bacon: In a large skillet over medium heat, add the chopped bacon. Cook until crispy, about 5-7 minutes. Once done, remove the bacon with a slotted spoon and place it on a paper towel to drain excess grease. Leave about 1 tablespoon of bacon grease in the skillet.

Sauté Garlic: In the same skillet, add the butter to the remaining bacon grease over medium heat. Once melted, add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant.

Create Alfredo Sauce: Lower the heat to medium-low and slowly pour in the heavy cream, stirring continuously. Allow to simmer for a couple of minutes.

Add Cheese and Seasoning: Gradually stir in the grated Parmesan cheese and Italian seasoning, continuing to stir until the cheese has melted and the sauce is smooth. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Combine Tortellini and Spinach: Add the cooked tortellini to the skillet and, if using, the chopped spinach. Gently toss until the tortellini is fully coated with the Alfredo sauce. Cook for another 2-3 minutes, just until the spinach wilts.

Finish with Bacon: Fold the crispy bacon into the tortellini mixture.

Serve: Plate the creamy tortellini alfredo, garnishing with fresh parsley for color. Enjoy your indulgent and savory dish!
