Ingredients

8 oz egg noodles

2 cans (5 oz each) tuna, drained

1 cup frozen peas (thawed)

1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup

1 cup milk

1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese

1/2 cup chopped onion

2 cloves garlic, minced

1/2 tsp dried thyme

1/4 tsp black pepper

1/4 tsp salt (to taste)

1 cup crushed potato chips (for topping)

Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Cook Noodles: In a large pot of boiling salted water, cook the egg noodles according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Sauté Aromatics: In a large skillet, over medium heat, add a drizzle of olive oil. Sauté the chopped onion for about 2-3 minutes until translucent. Add minced garlic and sauté for an additional 1 minute.

Combine Ingredients: In the same skillet, stir in the drained tuna, thawed peas, cream of mushroom soup, milk, dried thyme, black pepper, and salt. Mix well to combine.

Add Noodles: Gently fold in the cooked egg noodles and half of the shredded cheese until everything is well coated and heated through, about 5 minutes.

Bake: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Transfer the tuna mixture to a greased baking dish. Sprinkle the remaining cheese on top, followed by a generous layer of crushed potato chips.

Bake Dish: Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and the potato chips are golden brown.

Garnish and Serve: Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired before serving.

Prep Time: 15 minutes | Total Time: 50 minutes | Servings: 4-6 people
