Ingredients

1 lb (450g) ground beef (80/20 lean to fat ratio)

½ lb (225g) crispy bacon, chopped

1 cup (100g) shredded sharp cheddar cheese

1 small onion, finely chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

½ teaspoon black pepper

½ teaspoon salt

4 brioche burger buns

Lettuce leaves, for serving

1 large tomato, sliced

Pickles, for garnish

Favorite condiments (ketchup, mustard, or mayo)

Instructions

Prepare the Meat Mixture: In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, chopped bacon, shredded cheddar cheese, finely chopped onion, minced garlic, Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, black pepper, and salt. Mix gently until just combined; avoid overmixing.

Shape the Patties: Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape them into patties. Make a small indentation in the center of each patty to prevent them from puffing up while cooking.

Cook the Patties: Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the patties and cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side. Flip the patties and cook for an additional 4-5 minutes, or until they reach your desired doneness (160°F/70°C for medium).

Toast the Buns: While the patties are cooking, lightly butter the insides of the brioche buns and toast them on a separate pan or grill until golden and crispy.

Assemble the Burgers: Place a lettuce leaf on the bottom half of each toasted bun, then add the cooked patty. Top each burger with tomato slices, pickles, and your choice of condiments. Discuss the benefits of customizing with additional toppings, like avocado or jalapeños.

Serve and Enjoy: Place the top half of the bun on each burger and serve immediately with a side of fries or a salad. Enjoy the explosion of flavors in every bite!
