Ingredients

For the Burgers:

1 lb ground beef (80/20 blend for juiciness)

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

Salt and pepper to taste

4 burger buns

4 slices of cheddar cheese

Lettuce leaves

Tomato slices

Pickles

Ketchup and mustard (to taste)

For the Fries:

4 large russet potatoes

2 tablespoons vegetable oil

1 teaspoon sea salt

1 teaspoon paprika

Optional: 1 teaspoon garlic powder

Instructions

Prepare the Fries:

    - Start by washing and peeling the russet potatoes. Cut them into thin strips (about 1/4 inch thick) to create uniform fries.

      - Place the cut potatoes in a large bowl of cold water and let them soak for at least 30 minutes to remove excess starch. This helps achieve a crispier texture.

        - Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Drain the soaked potatoes, rinse them under cold water, and dry thoroughly with a kitchen towel.

          - Toss the dried potato strips in a bowl with vegetable oil, sea salt, paprika, and garlic powder until evenly coated.

            - Spread the fries in a single layer on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for 20-30 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden brown and crispy.

              Cook the Burgers:

                - In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix gently to avoid overworking the meat.

                  - Preheat a grill or a skillet over medium-high heat. Shape the beef mixture into four equal patties, making a slight indentation in the center of each to help them cook evenly.

                    - Once the grill or skillet is hot, add the burger patties. Cook for 3-4 minutes on each side for medium doneness. In the last minute of cooking, add a slice of cheddar cheese on top of each patty and cover with a lid to melt the cheese.

                      - Toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster until golden.

                        Assemble the Burgers:

                          - On the bottom half of each toasted bun, place a lettuce leaf, followed by the juicy burger patty with melted cheese. Add tomato slices, pickles, ketchup, and mustard as desired. Top with the other half of the bun.

                            Serve:

                              - Plate your perfectly juicy burgers alongside the crispy fries. Serve immediately while everything is hot and enjoy!
