½ cup unsalted butter, softened

1 cup buttermilk, at room temperature

3 large eggs

1 tablespoon vanilla extract

2 teaspoons baking powder

¼ cup brown sugar, packed

Preheat the Oven: Begin by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan to prevent sticking.

    Prepare the Batter: In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes. Add in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.

      Combine Dry Ingredients: In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

        Incorporate Buttermilk: Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the butter mixture, alternating with the buttermilk, beginning and ending with the dry ingredients. Mix until just combined.

          Prepare the Cinnamon Swirl: In a separate small bowl, mix the ground cinnamon and brown sugar together until well blended.

            Layering the Cake: Pour half of the cake batter into the prepared pan. Sprinkle half of the cinnamon-sugar mixture over the batter. Carefully spread the remaining batter on top and finish with the rest of the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
