Ingredients

2 (12 oz) cans of refrigerated cinnamon rolls

4 large eggs

1 cup milk

1/2 cup heavy cream

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon nutmeg

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup maple syrup (plus more for serving)

1/2 cup chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)

Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.

Open the cans of cinnamon rolls and cut each roll into quarters. Place the pieces in a large mixing bowl.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, heavy cream, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, and maple syrup until well combined.

Pour the egg mixture over the cinnamon roll pieces in the bowl. Toss gently to ensure all pieces are coated.

If using, fold in the chopped pecans or walnuts for added crunch and flavor.

Pour the cinnamon roll mixture into the prepared baking dish, spreading it evenly.

Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the center is set.

While the bake is cooling slightly, prepare the icing that comes with the cinnamon rolls by warming it slightly if necessary.

Drizzle the warm icing over the baked French toast. If desired, dust with powdered sugar for extra sweetness.

Serve warm, drizzled with additional maple syrup if desired.
