Ingredients

1 large ciabatta or focaccia loaf

1/2 cup sliced salami

1/2 cup sliced provolone cheese

1/2 cup sliced capicola or ham

1/3 cup diced roasted red peppers

1/4 cup sliced black olives

1/2 cup shredded romaine lettuce

1/4 cup diced tomatoes

1/4 cup diced red onion

1/4 cup Italian dressing

1 tablespoon fresh basil, chopped

Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

Start by slicing the ciabatta or focaccia loaf horizontally to create a top and bottom half.

In a large mixing bowl, combine the salami, provolone cheese, capicola, roasted red peppers, black olives, shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, and red onion.

Drizzle the Italian dressing over the mixture and add fresh basil, stirring gently to combine all the ingredients. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Layer the chopped filling evenly on the bottom half of the bread, packing it tightly.

Place the top half of the bread back on the sandwich and press down slightly.

Optionally, wrap the sandwich in parchment paper and refrigerate for 30 minutes for flavors to meld.

Slice into individual sandwiches and serve immediately, or enjoy as a picnic treat!
