Ingredients

For the Brownies:

1 cup (225g) unsalted butter

2 cups (400g) granulated sugar

4 large eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 cup (125g) all-purpose flour

1 cup (90g) unsweetened cocoa powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 cup (200g) chocolate chips

For the Chocolate Covered Strawberries:

1 pint (300g) fresh strawberries, washed and dried

8 ounces (225g) semi-sweet chocolate, chopped

1 tablespoon vegetable oil or coconut oil (for a shiny finish)

For Garnish:

Whipped cream (optional)

Extra chopped strawberries (optional)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Begin by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13 inch (23x33 cm) baking pan or line it with parchment paper for easy removal later.

    Prepare the Brownie Batter:

      - In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Once melted, remove from heat and stir in the granulated sugar until well combined.

        - Allow the mixture to cool slightly, then whisk in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.

          - In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Gradually add this dry mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Be careful not to overmix. Fold in the chocolate chips.

            Bake the Brownies:

              - Pour the brownie mixture into the prepared pan and spread it evenly. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs (not wet batter). Let them cool completely in the pan.

                Prepare the Chocolate Covered Strawberries:

                  - While the brownies are cooling, melt the chopped semi-sweet chocolate and vegetable oil together. This can be done in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring between each until smooth.

                    - Once melted, hold each strawberry by the stem and dip it into the chocolate, allowing any excess to drip back into the bowl. Place the dipped strawberries on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Repeat until all strawberries are covered.

                      Chill the Strawberries:

                        - Refrigerate the chocolate-covered strawberries for about 15-30 minutes, or until the chocolate has hardened.

                          Assemble:

                            - Once the brownies are completely cooled and the strawberries are set, cut the brownies into squares. Top each brownie with one or two chocolate-covered strawberries for a beautiful presentation.

                              Serve:

                                - Optionally, serve with a dollop of whipped cream and extra chopped strawberries for garnish. Enjoy your indulgent treat!
