Ingredients

4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts

4 slices of prosciutto

1 cup fontina cheese, shredded

1 cup heavy cream

2 tablespoons olive oil

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon fresh thyme, chopped (or 1 teaspoon dried thyme)

Salt and pepper to taste

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Prep the Chicken: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Take each chicken breast and place it between two sheets of plastic wrap. Using a meat mallet, gently pound the chicken to an even thickness (about 1/2 inch thick).

Wrap with Prosciutto: Lay two slices of prosciutto over each chicken breast, covering the entire surface. This will add flavor and moisture during cooking.

Sear the Chicken: In a large oven-safe skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the chicken breasts, prosciutto-side down, and sear for about 4-5 minutes until golden brown. Flip the chicken and sear the other side for an additional 4 minutes.

Add Garlic & Cream: Once the chicken is nicely browned, add the minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant. Pour in the heavy cream and sprinkle over the fresh thyme. Season with salt and pepper.

Melt the Cheese: Sprinkle the shredded fontina cheese evenly over the top of the chicken. Ensure each piece is covered well.

Bake: Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for about 15-20 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165°F / 74°C) and the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Garnish and Serve: Remove the skillet from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley before serving. This dish pairs wonderfully with a side of garlic mashed potatoes or a simple green salad.
