2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts

1 cup buttermilk

1 teaspoon cayenne pepper

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

Salt and pepper to taste

1 cup all-purpose flour

1/2 cup powdered sugar

1/4 cup honey

8 mini slider buns

1/4 cup butter, melted

Pickles (optional, for serving)

Instructions
 

Marinate the Chicken: In a bowl, combine buttermilk, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Add the chicken breasts and ensure they are fully submerged. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or preferably overnight.

    Prepare the Coating: In a shallow dish, combine flour, and a pinch of salt. In another bowl, mix powdered sugar and honey to create a sweet drizzle. Set both aside.

      Fry the Chicken: Heat vegetable oil in a deep skillet or fryer to 350°F (175°C). Remove the chicken from the buttermilk and allow excess to drip off. Dredge the chicken in the flour mixture, ensuring it is well coated.

        Cook the Chicken: Once the oil is hot, carefully place the chicken pieces in the hot oil. Fry for about 5-7 minutes per side or until golden brown and crispy, and the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C). Remove the chicken and place it on a paper towel-lined plate to drain.

          Prepare the Buns: Brush the mini slider buns with melted butter and toast them lightly in a skillet or oven until golden brown.

            Assemble the Sandwiches: Cut the fried chicken into smaller pieces if necessary and place a piece on each toasted bun. Drizzle the honey-powdered sugar mixture over the chicken, and add pickles if desired.
