Ingredients
  

8 oz whole wheat penne pasta

2 cups broccoli florets

1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces

3 cloves garlic, minced

1/4 cup olive oil

1/2 cup chicken broth

1/2 cup heavy cream

1 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

Salt and pepper to taste

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions
 

Cook the Pasta: In a large pot of boiling salted water, cook the penne pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Add the broccoli florets to the pot during the last 3 minutes of cooking. Drain and set aside.

    Cook the Chicken: In a large skillet over medium heat, add 2 tablespoons of olive oil. Season the chicken pieces with salt and pepper. Add the chicken to the skillet and cook until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.

      Sauté Garlic: In the same skillet, add the remaining olive oil and minced garlic. Sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.

        Make the Sauce: Pour in the chicken broth and heavy cream, stirring to combine. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer. Add the grated Parmesan cheese, stirring until the cheese is melted and the sauce is smooth.

          Combine: Return the cooked chicken and drained pasta and broccoli to the skillet. Toss everything together to coat with the creamy sauce. Adjust the seasoning with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes if using.
