Ingredients

1 lb ground beef (80/20 blend for juiciness)

4 oz cream cheese, softened

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1/4 cup diced jalapeños (fresh or pickled, depending on your spice preference)

1 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp onion powder

Salt and pepper to taste

4 hamburger buns

4 slices of bacon (optional, for a crispy topping)

Lettuce, tomato, and other desired toppings

Olive oil (for grilling)

Instructions

Prepare the Filling: In a medium bowl, mix the softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, and diced jalapeños. Season with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Combine until well mixed, then set aside.

Form the Patties: Divide the ground beef into 8 equal portions. Take one portion and flatten it into a disk. Place a generous spoonful of the jalapeño popper mixture in the center. Top it with another disk of beef and pinch the edges to seal the filling inside. Repeat for all patties.

Cook the Bacon (optional): If using bacon, cook it in a skillet over medium heat until crispy. Remove and place on paper towels to drain excess grease.

Grill the Burgers: Preheat your grill or skillet to medium-high heat. Lightly oil the grill grates. Cook the stuffed burgers for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired doneness (internal temp of 160°F for medium). If using bacon, add a slice on top of each burger during the last minute of cooking to warm it up.

Toast the Buns: When the burgers are nearly done, place the hamburger buns cut-side down on the grill for about 1 minute or until golden and lightly toasted.

Assemble the Burgers: Place each burger on a toasted bun and top with your choice of lettuce, tomato, and any additional desired toppings. Drizzle with hot sauce if you like an extra kick.

Serve: Enjoy your cheesy jalapeño popper stuffed burgers hot, paired with fries, chips, or a fresh salad!
