Ingredients

1 pound (450 g) pizza dough, homemade or store-bought

2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

1 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon dried oregano

1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

1 tablespoon olive oil (for drizzling)

Sea salt, to taste

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.

Prepare the Dough: On a lightly floured surface, roll out the pizza dough into a rectangle, about 1/4 inch thick. Use a knife or a pizza cutter to cut the dough into a triangle shape, resembling a Christmas tree.

Make the Cheese Filling: In a bowl, mix together the shredded mozzarella, grated Parmesan, chopped parsley, garlic powder, oregano, and red pepper flakes if using.

Assemble the Tree: Once you have your dough shaped like a Christmas tree, spread the cheese mixture evenly over the triangular dough, leaving a little bit of a border.

Create the Tree Shape: Fold the edges of dough over the cheese filling to create tree-shaped branches. You can make small cuts from the top of the triangle down to resemble tree branches. Pull the tips of the triangle to the side to create a more festive look.

Add Egg Wash: Brush the egg wash over the entire tree to give it a golden color when baked. Sprinkle sea salt over the top for extra flavor.

Drizzle with Olive Oil: Drizzle a little olive oil over the top to enhance the flavor and help with browning.

Bake: Place the assembled Christmas tree bread in the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes or until the tree is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Serve: Once out of the oven, allow to cool for a couple of minutes before cutting. Serve warm as a festive centerpiece at your holiday gathering.
