Ingredients

12 oz bowtie pasta

1 lb ground beef

1 small onion, finely chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce

1 cup beef broth

1 tsp Italian seasoning

1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)

2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

1 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Salt and pepper, to taste

Fresh basil or parsley, for garnish

Instructions

Cook the Pasta:

    - In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the bowtie pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

      Brown the Beef:

        - In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula. Drain excess grease if necessary.

          Sauté the Aromatics:

            - Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet with the beef. Sauté until the onion is translucent, about 3-4 minutes.

              Combine and Simmer:

                - Stir in the tomato sauce, beef broth, Italian seasoning, red pepper flakes (if using), and season with salt and pepper. Bring the mixture to a simmer and let it cook for about 5-7 minutes.

                  Mix Pasta and Cheese:

                    - Add the cooked bowtie pasta to the skillet, stirring to combine. Remove from heat, and stir in 1 cup of mozzarella and half of the Parmesan cheese until melted and creamy.

                      Bake (Optional):

                        - Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Pour the pasta mixture into a baking dish. Top with remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.

                          Garnish and Serve:

                            - Remove from the oven, let cool for a few minutes, then garnish with fresh basil or parsley before serving. Enjoy your cheesy bowtie goodness!
