Ingredients

4 slices of thick-cut sourdough bread

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1/2 cup crumbled cooked bacon (about 4-6 slices)

3 cloves garlic, minced

2 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened

1 tablespoon olive oil

1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

1/4 teaspoon salt

Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish

1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

Prepare the Garlic Butter: In a small bowl, combine softened butter, minced garlic, olive oil, salt, and red pepper flakes. Mix well until smooth.

Toast the Bread: Lay the slices of sourdough bread on a baking sheet. Spread a generous amount of the garlic butter mixture on one side of each slice.

Melt the Cheese: On top of the garlic buttered side, sprinkle an even layer of shredded mozzarella cheese. Then, add a generous amount of crumbled bacon over the cheese.

Add Parmesan: Finish off by sprinkling grated Parmesan cheese on top for an extra cheesy flavor.

Bake: Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for about 10-12 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly, and the bread edges are golden brown.

Garnish and Serve: Remove the toast from the oven, let it cool for a minute, then garnish with chopped fresh parsley before slicing into pieces. Serve warm and enjoy the cheesy, savory delight!
