Ingredients

2 salmon fillets (6 oz each)

8 oz shrimp, peeled and deveined

2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 tablespoon butter

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 small onion, finely chopped

1 red bell pepper, diced

1 cup heavy cream

½ cup chicken broth

1 teaspoon paprika

½ teaspoon salt

¼ teaspoon black pepper

2 green onions, sliced (for garnish)

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Cooked rice or pasta (for serving)

Instructions

Season the Seafood: In a small bowl, mix the Cajun seasoning with salt, black pepper, and paprika. Rub half of this mixture onto the salmon fillets and the other half onto the shrimp. Set aside.

Sear the Salmon: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Carefully place the salmon fillets in the skillet and sear for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until cooked through and golden. Remove from the skillet and set aside.

Cook the Shrimp: In the same skillet, add the shrimp and cook for about 2-3 minutes until they turn pink and opaque. Remove the shrimp and set them aside with the salmon.

Sauté the Vegetables: In the same skillet, add butter, then add chopped onion and bell pepper. Sauté for about 3-4 minutes until the onions are translucent.

Create the Sauce: Add minced garlic to the skillet and cook for another minute until fragrant. Pour in the chicken broth, scraping up any brown bits from the skillet, and bring it to a simmer. Stir in the heavy cream and let it simmer for 5 minutes until it thickens slightly.

Combine: Add the seared salmon and shrimp back into the skillet, coating them well with the creamy sauce. Allow to simmer together for another 2-3 minutes to heat everything through.

Serve: Serve the Cajun Delight over a bed of cooked rice or pasta. Garnish with sliced green onions and fresh parsley for a pop of color.
