Ingredients

1 cup brown sugar, packed

1/2 cup honey

1/4 cup Dijon mustard

1/4 cup apple cider vinegar

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/2 teaspoon ground cloves

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1/4 teaspoon salt

Optional: 1/4 cup orange juice or zest for a citrus twist

Instructions

In a medium saucepan, combine the brown sugar, honey, Dijon mustard, and apple cider vinegar. Whisk over medium heat until the sugar is dissolved and the mixture is smooth.

Add the ground cinnamon, ground cloves, black pepper, salt, and optional orange juice or zest. Stir well to combine.

Allow the glaze to simmer for about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it thickens slightly.

Remove from heat and let the glaze cool for a few minutes before using. It will thicken further as it cools.

Preheat your oven if you're glazing a pre-cooked ham (follow package instructions if needed).

Brush the glaze generously over the ham, using a pastry brush. Reserve some glaze for basting during the cooking process.

Bake the ham according to the package instructions, basting with the reserved glaze halfway through the cooking time.

Once finished, let the ham rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
