1 cup unsalted butter, softened

1 cup granulated sugar

1 cup packed brown sugar

2 large eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

3 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

1 teaspoon baking powder

For the blueberry filling:

2 cups fresh or frozen blueberries

1/4 cup granulated sugar

1 tablespoon lemon juice

1 tablespoon cornstarch

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Pinch of salt

For the topping:

1/2 cup powdered sugar

1-2 teaspoons milk (or water)

Optional: additional fresh blueberries for garnish

Prepare the blueberry filling: In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine the blueberries, granulated sugar, lemon juice, cornstarch, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt. Cook, stirring gently, until the mixture is bubbly and thickened (about 5-7 minutes). Remove from heat and let it cool while preparing the cookie dough.

    Make the cookie dough: In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Add the eggs, one at a time, along with the vanilla extract, mixing well after each addition.

      In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
