Ingredients

1 cup fresh blueberries

1/4 cup fresh mint leaves (plus extra for garnish)

1 cup fresh lemon juice (about 4-6 lemons)

3/4 cup granulated sugar (adjust to taste)

4 cups cold water

Ice cubes

Lemon slices for garnish

Instructions

In a blender, combine the fresh blueberries and 1 cup of cold water. Blend until smooth, then strain the mixture through a fine-mesh sieve into a large pitcher to remove the skins. This will give you fresh blueberry juice.

In a small saucepan, combine the remaining 3 cups of cold water, sugar, and mint leaves. Heat over low heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves completely. Remove from heat and let it steep for about 15 minutes.

Once the syrup has cooled, strain it into the pitcher with the blueberry juice to remove the mint leaves.

Add the fresh lemon juice to the pitcher and stir well to combine all the ingredients. Taste and adjust sweetness if needed by adding more sugar or water as desired.

Refrigerate the mixture for at least 30 minutes to chill and let the flavors meld.

Serve the blueberry mint lemonade over ice cubes, garnished with fresh mint leaves and lemon slices.
