Ingredients

4 cups all-purpose flour

1 packet (2 ¼ tsp) active dry yeast

1 cup whole milk (warm)

1/4 cup granulated sugar

1/4 cup unsalted butter (melted)

2 large eggs

1 tsp salt

1/2 cup brown sugar (packed)

2 tbsp ground cinnamon

1/4 cup unsalted butter (softened)

1 cup powdered sugar

2-3 tbsp milk (for glaze)

1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

Activate the Yeast: In a small bowl, mix warm milk (110°F - 115°F) with granulated sugar and yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes, until it's frothy.

Make the Dough: In a large mixing bowl, combine the frothy yeast mixture, melted butter, eggs, and salt. Gradually add flour, one cup at a time, mixing until a soft dough forms. Knead on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth.

First Rise: Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm area for about 1-1.5 hours, or until it doubles in size.

Prepare Filling: In a small bowl, mix brown sugar and ground cinnamon thoroughly.

Roll Out Dough: Once risen, punch down the dough and roll it out into a large rectangle (about 12x18 inches) on a lightly floured surface.

Spread Butter and Filling: Spread the softened butter over the dough, leaving a small border. Sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture evenly on top.

Form Rolls: Starting from the long edge, roll the dough tightly into a log. Pinch the seams to seal, then cut into 12-15 rolls.

Second Rise: Place the rolls in a greased baking dish. Cover with a cloth and let them rise for another 30-45 minutes until puffed.

Bake: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the rolls for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown. Keep an eye on them to prevent over-baking.

Make Glaze: While the rolls bake, whisk together powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and milk to achieve a smooth glaze consistency.

Finish and Serve: Once the rolls are out of the oven, drizzle the glaze over them while they're still warm. Enjoy your heavenly homemade cinnamon rolls!
