Ingredients

2 lbs beef sirloin or flank steak, cut into 1-inch cubes

1 cup beef broth

1 medium onion, chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

2 tablespoons soy sauce

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

2 cups mushrooms, sliced (optional)

1 cup heavy cream or sour cream

1 teaspoon dried thyme

1 teaspoon black pepper

2 tablespoons all-purpose flour

2 tablespoons olive oil

Salt, to taste

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Stovetop Method:

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the beef cubes and sear on all sides until browned (about 5-7 minutes).

Remove the beef and set aside. In the same pan, add onions and garlic; sauté until softened (3-4 minutes).

Stir in the mushrooms (if using) and cook for an additional 3 minutes.

Sprinkle flour over the mixture and stir for a minute to help thicken.

Gradually add beef broth, soy sauce, and Worcestershire sauce while stirring to combine. Bring to a simmer.

Return the beef to the skillet, add thyme, black pepper, and salt to taste. Cover and let it simmer on low for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Stir in heavy cream or sour cream and cook for another 5 minutes. Adjust seasoning if necessary.

Serve over rice, mashed potatoes, or your favorite side. Garnish with fresh parsley.

                    Crock Pot Method:

In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat and brown the beef cubes on all sides. Transfer the beef to the crock pot.

In the same skillet, add onions and garlic, sautéing until softened. Pour it over the beef in the crock pot.

Add mushrooms (if using), beef broth, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, black pepper, and salt. Mix well.

Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours until the beef is tender.

About 30 minutes before serving, stir in the heavy cream or sour cream. Allow it to meld for the remaining cook time.

Serve warm over your choice of sides and garnish with fresh parsley.
