Ingredients

1 lb ground beef

1 ready-made pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)

1 cup marinara sauce

2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

1/2 cup sliced pepperoni

1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 small onion, diced

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

Salt and pepper to taste

Fresh basil for garnish

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).

Cook the Beef: In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef. Cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula. Drain excess grease.

Sauté Vegetables: To the skillet, add diced onion and minced garlic. Sauté until the onion is translucent, about 3-4 minutes. Add Italian seasoning, red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper. Mix well and remove from heat.

Prepare the Pizza Dough: On a floured surface, roll out the pizza dough to fit a 10-inch pie dish or cast-iron skillet.

Assemble the Pie: Lay the rolled-out dough in the pie dish, leaving some excess dough hanging over the edges. Spread marinara sauce evenly on the bottom. Layer cooked beef mixture and add a sprinkle of mozzarella cheese on top. Add pepperoni slices and finish with more mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.

Fold and Seal: Fold the overhanging edges of the dough over the fillings to create a crust. Pinch to seal and make a decorative edge if desired.

Bake: Place the pizza pie in the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbling.

Cool and Serve: Once baked, allow the pie to cool for 5-10 minutes. Garnish with fresh basil before slicing.
