Ingredients

1 lb (450g) beef sirloin, thinly sliced

3 tbsp black bean sauce

1 tbsp oyster sauce

2 tbsp soy sauce

1 tbsp cornstarch

1 tbsp vegetable oil

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 inch ginger, minced

1 red bell pepper, sliced

1 green bell pepper, sliced

1 medium onion, sliced

1/2 cup beef broth

1 tsp sugar

1 tbsp sesame oil

2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)

Cooked jasmine rice (for serving)

Instructions

Marinate the Beef: In a bowl, combine the sliced beef with black bean sauce, oyster sauce, soy sauce, cornstarch, and sugar. Mix well and let it sit for at least 30 minutes to absorb the flavors.

Prepare the Vegetables: While the beef is marinating, slice the red and green bell peppers and onion. Mince the garlic and ginger.

Heat the Oil: In a large frying pan or wok, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat.

Cook the Beef: Add the marinated beef in a single layer, cooking for about 2-3 minutes until browned. Remove the beef from the pan and set aside.

Stir-Fry the Vegetables: In the same pan, add minced garlic and ginger, stirring quickly for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Add the sliced onions and bell peppers, stir-frying for about 4-5 minutes until they are tender-crisp.

Combine and Thicken: Return the beef to the pan, then pour in the beef broth and drizzle with sesame oil. Stir well to combine and let it simmer for another 3-4 minutes. If you prefer a thicker sauce, you can add an extra tablespoon of cornstarch mixed with water.

Serve: Remove from heat, garnish with chopped green onions, and serve immediately over cooked jasmine rice.
