Ingredients

1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined

1 pound bacon, cut in half

½ cup barbecue sauce (your favorite variety)

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

½ teaspoon black pepper

½ teaspoon salt

1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)

Skewers (soaked in water for 30 minutes if wooden)

Instructions

Marinate the Shrimp: In a large bowl, combine the olive oil, garlic powder, smoked paprika, black pepper, and salt. Add the shrimp to the bowl and toss to coat evenly. Let it marinate for 15-30 minutes.

Prepare the Bacon: Preheat your grill to medium heat. Take one half slice of bacon and wrap it around each shrimp, securing the ends with a toothpick or skewering it through (if using skewers).

Brush with BBQ Sauce: Once all the shrimp are wrapped in bacon, brush a generous amount of barbecue sauce over each piece.

Grill the Shrimp: Place the bacon-wrapped shrimp on the preheated grill. Grill for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until the bacon is crispy and the shrimp are cooked through (opaque in color, typically about 5-6 minutes total).

Glaze with Extra Sauce: In the last minute of grilling, brush on more barbecue sauce for an extra sticky layer.

Serve and Garnish: Remove the shrimp from the grill and transfer them to a serving plate. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley and serve hot with additional barbecue sauce on the side for dipping.
