Ingredients

1 pound Brussels sprouts, trimmed and halved

4 slices of bacon, diced

1/4 cup balsamic vinegar

2 tablespoons olive oil

2 tablespoons honey

Salt and pepper, to taste

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Prepare the Brussels Sprouts: Begin by trimming the stems of the Brussels sprouts and cutting them in half lengthwise. Rinse under cold water and pat dry.

Cook the Bacon: In a large skillet, cook the diced bacon over medium heat until crispy, about 5-7 minutes. Once cooked, use a slotted spoon to transfer the bacon to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess grease, leaving about 1 tablespoon of bacon fat in the skillet.

Sauté the Brussels Sprouts: In the same skillet with the bacon fat, add the Brussels sprouts, cut side down. Season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and red pepper flakes if using. Cook for about 5-7 minutes without stirring, until the sprouts are golden brown.

Add the Glaze: While the sprouts are cooking, in a small bowl, whisk together the balsamic vinegar and honey. Pour this mixture over the Brussels sprouts, reducing the heat to low and stirring to coat evenly. Continue cooking for an additional 5-7 minutes until the sprouts are tender and the glaze is thickened, stirring occasionally.

Combine Bacon and Serve: Stir in the crispy bacon pieces and mix well. Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary. Remove from heat and transfer to a serving dish. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

Enjoy! Serve the Balsamic Glazed Brussels Sprouts warm as a delicious and flavorful side dish to your favorite main course.
