Ingredients

4 slices of thick-cut bread (e.g. sourdough or Texas toast)

4 slices of cheddar cheese

4 slices of cooked bacon

1/2 pound ground beef (seasoned with salt and pepper)

2 tablespoons mayonnaise

2 tablespoons ketchup

1 tablespoon yellow mustard

1/2 cup shredded lettuce

1 medium tomato, sliced

1/4 cup pickles, sliced

Butter (for grilling)

Instructions

Prepare the Beef: In a skillet over medium heat, form the ground beef into two thin patties. Season both sides with salt and pepper. Cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side until browned and cooked through. Remove from the pan and set aside.

Cook the Bacon: In the same skillet, add the slices of bacon and cook until crispy. Once done, transfer them to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess fat.

Mix the Sauce: In a small bowl, mix together mayonnaise, ketchup, and mustard. Set aside.

Assemble the Sandwiches: On one slice of bread, spread a tablespoon of the sauce mixture. Place a slice of cheese on top, followed by a beef patty, two slices of bacon, shredded lettuce, tomato slices, and pickles. Add another slice of cheese on top and cover with another slice of bread.

Grill the Sandwiches: Heat a skillet over medium heat and add a tablespoon of butter. Once the butter is melted and bubbly, place the assembled sandwich in the skillet. Cook for 3-4 minutes or until golden brown. Flip and repeat on the other side, adding more butter if needed and making sure both sides are perfectly crispy with melty cheese inside.

Serve: Once cooked, slice the sandwich in half diagonally and serve warm with extra pickles on the side, if desired.

              Prep Time: 15 minutes | Total Time: 30 minutes | Servings: 2

                - Presentation Tips: Serve the sandwich on a rustic wooden board with a side of crispy fries or onion rings for a classic diner look. Add a toothpick to secure the sandwich halves if interested.
