Ingredients

4 slices of thick-cut bread (sourdough or brioche)

4 slices of cheddar cheese

4 slices of American cheese

4 slices of cooked bacon

1 pound ground beef

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

Salt and black pepper to taste

2 tablespoons onion powder

2 tablespoons garlic powder

4 tablespoons unsalted butter

Dill pickles (for garnish)

Ketchup and mustard (for serving)

Instructions

Prepare the Beef Patties: In a bowl, combine the ground beef with Worcestershire sauce, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until everything is well combined. Form the mixture into two thin patties.

Cook the Beef Patties: Heat a skillet over medium heat. Cook the beef patties for about 3-4 minutes per side, or until they are cooked to your preferred level of doneness. Remove them from the skillet and set aside.

Assemble the Sandwiches: On a slice of bread, layer one slice of cheddar cheese and one slice of American cheese. Place a beef patty on top, followed by two slices of bacon. Add another slice of cheddar cheese and American cheese on top. Finally, place another slice of bread on top to complete the sandwich.

Grill the Sandwiches: In the same skillet, melt 1 tablespoon of butter over medium heat. Carefully place the assembled sandwich in the skillet. Cook for 3-4 minutes or until the bottom is golden brown and the cheese is starting to melt. While the sandwich is cooking, spread 1 tablespoon of butter on the top slice of bread.

Flip and Finish Cooking: Once the bottom is golden, flip the sandwich and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes while pressing down gently, allowing the cheese to melt completely and the bread to become crispy.

Slice and Serve: Remove the grilled cheese sandwich from the skillet, slice it in half, and serve immediately. Garnish with dill pickles and offer ketchup and mustard on the side.
