Ingredients

1 lb chicken tenders

1 cup uncooked bacon, chopped into small pieces

½ cup brown sugar

2 tbsp soy sauce

1 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp smoked paprika

½ tsp black pepper

½ tsp salt

2 tbsp olive oil

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

In a skillet over medium heat, cook the chopped bacon until crispy. Use a slotted spoon to remove the bacon and place it on a paper towel-lined plate to drain.

In a large bowl, combine the brown sugar, soy sauce, garlic powder, smoked paprika, black pepper, and salt. Mix until well combined.

Add the chicken tenders to the bowl and toss until they are evenly coated with the brown sugar mixture.

In the same skillet with the bacon drippings, add olive oil if necessary and heat over medium-high heat.

Sear the coated chicken tenders for about 2-3 minutes on each side, until they are golden brown.

Transfer the chicken tenders to the prepared baking sheet. Sprinkle the crispy bacon pieces over the top of the tenders.

Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).

Once baked, remove from the oven and let rest for 5 minutes. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley before serving.
