Ingredients

1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into 1-inch cubes

3 tablespoons olive oil

2 tablespoons lemon juice

4 cloves garlic, minced

2 teaspoons dried oregano

1 teaspoon ground cumin

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

Salt and pepper, to taste

1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional for heat)

Wooden or metal skewers (if using wooden, soak in water for 30 minutes)

Instructions

Marinate the Chicken: In a mixing bowl, combine the olive oil, lemon juice, minced garlic, oregano, cumin, smoked paprika, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes. Whisk until well blended. Add the chicken cubes and coat them well with the marinade. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes (up to 2 hours for more flavor).

Preheat the Air Fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 5 minutes.

Skewer the Chicken: Thread the marinated chicken pieces onto the skewers, leaving space between each piece to ensure even cooking.

Cook in the Air Fryer: Place the skewers in the basket of the air fryer in a single layer. Cook for 10-12 minutes, turning halfway through, until the chicken is golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165°F or 75°C).

Serve: Remove from the air fryer and let the skewers rest for a few minutes. Serve hot with a side of tzatziki sauce and fresh pita bread. Enjoy your homemade chicken souvlaki!
