Ingredients

4 medium russet potatoes

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 teaspoon kosher salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

Optional toppings: sour cream, chives, butter, shredded cheese, crispy bacon

Instructions

Prep the Potatoes: Start by thoroughly washing the russet potatoes under cold water to remove any dirt. Pat them dry with a towel.

Pierce and Season: Using a fork, poke several holes (about 6-8) in each potato. This allows steam to escape and helps to create a fluffy interior.

Oil and Spice: In a large bowl, coat the potatoes with olive oil, making sure each potato is evenly covered. Sprinkle the kosher salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder over the potatoes and rub the seasoning into the skin.

Air Frying: Place the seasoned potatoes in the air fryer basket, ensuring they're not overcrowded. Depending on the size of your air fryer, you may need to do this in batches.

Cooking Time: Set the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) and cook for 35-40 minutes. Flip the potatoes halfway through for even cooking. Check for doneness by inserting a fork; the potatoes should be tender inside.

Crispy Finish: For an extra crispy skin, increase the temperature to 425°F (220°C) in the last 5 minutes of cooking.

Serve and Enjoy: Remove the potatoes from the air fryer, let them cool for a few minutes, then slice them open. Fluff the insides with a fork and add your favorite toppings such as sour cream, chives, butter, shredded cheese, or crispy bacon.
